Nassaupark is a transformation of a former sports park into a residential area. The area is 12 hectares and will contain about 230 houses. The urban plan was developed in cooperation with town-architect Fred Kaaij. The plan for the public space was developed by LOOSvanVLIET. The new residential area is well connected with the bordering Tudorpark and integrates the existing green qualities. The main entrance is created by two meandering roads. One is planted with a lane of Linden trees and the other, situated along the canal-zone, with a diversity of trees to create a leafy atmosphere. Small green squares are situated in the smaller neighborhood streets and have their own identities, created by specific planting. The play areas are located on these squares. Residents can park their cars in courtyards and parking places for visitors are located along the roads. By choosing these solutions the public space will not be dominated by parked cars, which creates an attractive living area. The streets will be constructed from paving bricks. The whole neighborhood will be developed on a small scale by private client associations.
