Most of De Blaricummermeent´s greenery is to be found in a long, linear park along a new river that recreates a branch of the Eem thought to have run there centuries ago. The 2.5 kilometre long park connects the existing greenery in the nearby Bijvanck neighbourhood with the Voorland Stichtsebrug recreation area. The river’s reed banks serve as an ecological link with Gooimeer´s (Gooi Lake’s) natural shores. The park runs along the river’s eastern bank but is accessible to everyone. Its layout features perennials and grasses as well as several striking solitary trees. Its colours range from artificially variegated in the south to natural green near Gooimeer. And its paths, made of ornamental imprinted concrete, are suitable for both skaters and the disabled.
