All historic park landscapes in the city of London which are part of the Royal Parks have its own characteristic that can be enhanced by a specific design for drinking fountains in each park. The concept of this drinking fountain is based on a manipulation of the two main parts of a tree: the branches and the leaves. By changing the leaf and branch design, each parks has its own identity and together make a family of drinking fountains in the eight parks. Drinking from a plane tree leaf, a maple leaf, an oak or a birch leaf.
The city park is like a tap in our city life. The park is a reminder of nature, a de-stressing environment where the dynamic of traffic is gone. We relax, meet our friends, walk, jog or play and sometimes we become thirsty. Nice to drink clean, cool, fresh sparkling water from a fountain leaf. The fountain on one hand is part of the park context and on the other hand is an artificial recognizable object. Press the button with your foot to drink from the upper or lower source or to fill your bottle. The fountain can also be used by disabled people. The concept offers an elegant fountain and is an invitation for use. The object is linked to natural elements. Branches underneath create a stable robust three-point construction but can also be easily mounted on a wall.
