Garden Festival in Chaumont-sur-Loire open for public!

We are pleased to announce LOOS van VLIET has been selected as laureate of the International Garden Festival. This design competition is a yearly recurring garden festival organized by Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire in France. The theme of this year’s edition is ‘’Ideal Garden”. The gardens are now open to the public. The design of our garden with the name ‘’Eden” is a reference to the biblical ideal garden. Creating a self-sufficient oasis where people, animals and plants can exist together in perfect harmony, is the main goal of the garden. To achieve that goal, a selection of edible plants - including colourful flowers, vegetables, fruit trees, and shrubs – was made. The plants are selected on their most interesting features (shapes, colours, fragrances). This makes sure that the garden stays a pleasant and attractive area through all seasons. A circular water element, referring to the source of life and growth for all beings, is the centre of the garden. The sculpture in this water element - based on multiple circles of different height - represents the ‘Ideal shape’. 16-05-2022
