The parks in Cotonou are now open to the public!

President Talon of Benin has unveiled two monuments in parks designed by LOOSvanVLIET. The parks are now open to the public! The first park, Les Jardins de Mathieu, which includes the 'Monument aux Dévoués', is a smaller park of one hectare, consisting of a formal area with triangular flowerbeds. Towards the edges, the park transforms into a green oasis with flowing paths and lush planting. The second park, 'Parc des Amazones', is one and a half kilometers long and contains a 30 m high statue of an amazon. The park starts with an urban green atmosphere on the city side, followed by an open section for events and then there is more natural greenery towards the sea. On each side of this park, among other things, there's a convention center and the presidential palace. 17-08-2022
