Watertoren Zandvoort

Our design for the outdoor space of the water tower in Zandvoort has been presented to the residents and the city council! The eye-catching water tower in Zandvoort aan Zee will be transformed into an exclusive residential monument with a dune garden. Simultaneously, a new complex with 14 flats will be built on the site of the nearby Villa Maris. Around the water tower, a garden and a circular access path to the entrances will be created. The native dune planting in the surrounding area has been used for the plantings. The design of the planting beds, which are mainly planted with blue flowers and grasses, is inspired by the undulating movements of the wind. Between the borders, space has been created for a bee hotel. In addition, five pine trees will be placed at tactical points. Multi-stemmed fly pines with a characteristic shape, which will be formed by the wind over the years, have been chosen. In addition to the apartment complex and the renovated residential tower, there will be space for parking on and under a deck. Around the parking deck at the top, a pergola with climbing plants will be built to limit the visibility of cars from across the street. Rainwater will drain through the parking deck into the surrounding greenery. 28 06 2023
