This month, the design for ‘Dutch Valley’ was presented in China to the board of Jinghai. The plan, which covers 47 km2, is situated in an economic development zone just under Tianjin. It offers a clever strategy and design for agriculture, horticulture, flower culture and 10 km2 of greenhouses in combination with tourism and the relocation of a village of 10.000 families. Water is the leading theme. Precipitation is little and evaporation is high. The plan offers a sustainable strategy which provides a year round supply of water and in which energy and resources are fully recycled. The plan was developed in cooperation with Architecten van Mourik and Witteveen en Bos. 07-2012
