The design for the Hanwha Plaza is completed. The design for the public space of The Head Quarter Building of Hanwha was part of a winning entry of UNStudio, LOOSvanVLIET and Arup. Since the building is located in the cultural hearth of Seoul along the Cheonggyecheon stream it has high potential. The design proposal for the plaza is representative, connecting to the surrounding plots and inviting people in from all sides. The design gives space to all kinds of places, atmospheres and possible activities all designed within one coherent design language. In the design are both square-like spaces and green areas. Raised planting beds with trees provide a green feel to the Hanwha Plaza. The landscaping is selected such that it is representative for all seasons. Hanwha Plaza offers several covered resting areas, a stage for activities and a place for outdoor interactive exhibits. Central in the plan lays a sunken ‘light garden’. 30-10-2014
