Country estate Oosterwold is situated near Almere and the Gooi Lake, in the polder between extensive fields, meadows and forests. It was designed as a park with a ring-shaped meandering park lake and a circular infrastructure. A two-layered pavilion with apartments is the main building and is situated in the heart, on the island. Spaces were left open in the vegetation of shrubs and trees in the edges and along the lake. In this way 30 residential plots were created for detached houses. Besides individual living, the estate also offers space for living for multiple generations and joined with family and friends. It is also possible to live on the estate while parents in need for care live close by in an apartment in the main building. The concept of country estate Oosterwold is sustainable. The central lake also serves as a water retention pond. Precipitation on the individual plots is collected in the lake through a system of ditches. The waste water follows another route. It is purified on site and then released in the local water system. Country estate Oosterwold is an initiative to make affordable, exclusive and sustainable living possible. 15-01-2015
