Bird Island bridge

The city of Shenyang will double in seize towards the opposite side of the Hun River. Bird Island is situated in between these urban areas. The growth of the population is a motivation to improve the recreational island and make a second connection to the mainland through an iconic bridge. The bridge for pedestrians and cyclists is 330 meter long with two arches and one support in between. The arches are curvy in the section. The cable-stays provide the bridge’s crossway’s stability. The design refers to the flight of the bird in both section and front view and marks the entrance of the island from a distance as well as close-up.
