This former garden of an orphanage house (Wezentuin) is a part of the redevelopment of the inner city of Den Burg. The park is like a hidden pearl in the city. The organic network of paths facilitates major pedestrian routes as well as helps to create beautiful park views and area’s to sit and relax. The new music pavilion has been wrapped around by this paths system so that the space for audience arises. Groups of perennials spread through the park improve its attractiveness during the whole season. The planting selection is based on typical species found on Texel Island as well as on low maintenance costs. Nearby the flowers long benches are located which follow the gentle curves of paths with their form. Specially designed entrance objects are a modern interpretation of the former historical gates. The plan is being appreciated for its timeless design.
